About Harts Chandlery

Captain Sturt Boat Supplies has been trading in Goolwa South Australia for over 25 years. Goolwa is located at the mouth of the Murray River where it flows into the Southern Ocean and is home to a vibrant yachting community. Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club is one of Australia's oldest Yacht Clubs being founded in August 1854.  

In November 2019 the Captain Sturt Boat Supplies was purchased by Don Hart and his partner Linda and the business name evolved to become Harts Chandlery - Captain Sturt Boat Supplies.

Don Hart has a lifetime history in yachting having sailed and competed locally, nationally and internationally in Dinghy's, skiffs and small keel boats.

Don has worked in the industry in retail, wholesale and manufacture and is well placed to assist boat owners, novice recreational sailors and experienced sailors in all aspects of sailing, repair and maintenance to get the best from their vessel.

With a waterfront location at Captain Sturt Marina, 237 Liverpool Rd, Goolwa; the chandlery provides a broad range of quality marine supplies, yacht fittings, finishes and nautical decor. 

Harts Chandlery is the Australian distributor for the US designed and manufactured Wavefront TillerClutch ™ a yachting innovation that is almost as good as a non speaking extra crew member. The TillerClutch™  allows you to leave the helm for short periods.
